Regulations Higher Professional Mining and Building Vocational School

On the basis of the Higher Professional Mining and Building Vocational School, educational and practical centers were created for the professions of “locksmith for the repair of wheeled vehicles”, “electric gas welder”.

Directions of the activity of the educational and practical center:

  • Internship of the masters of the industrial training, teachers of professional and theoretical training of educational institutions based on the educational and practical center.
  • Cooperation with production enterprises.
  • Introduction of the latest production technologies with the using of modern equipment, tools and materials in the educational process.
  • Creation of a complete system of the latest methods of professional training based on the study and introduction of advanced pedagogical experience of other educational institutions.

An agreement on cooperation in the branch of training of skilled workers for 2021-2024 was concluded between the Higher Professional Mining and BuildingVocational School of the Poltava Integrated Mining and Concentration Plant, Yeristiv Integrated Mining and Concentration Plant .

The plant is the main exporter of iron ore raw materials in Ukraine. The main supplier of workers for the enterprise more then 50 years is the Higher Professional Mining and and Building Vocational School, which is a state vocational and technical educational institution of the third attestation level.

We (Higher Professional Mining and Construction School are involved in the following international projects:

«Friendly Space», implemented by the NGO Fund «Professional Development of Kharkiv» as part of the project «Professional Integration of Internally Displaced Persons», carried out by the federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

«Skills4Recovery» – skilled labor for recovery of Ukraine.

Under the UPSHIFT program, facilitated by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the youth co-working club «DRABYNA» was established and is currently in operation. Based on the club, the hub «Your Home» has been established to preserve the mental health of internally displaced persons.»

Locomotive driver

A locomotive driver is a person who drives a locomotive and ensures the safe movement of locomotives and trains during rail transportation of passengers and cargo. Performs care and maintenance. Monitors the operation of safety devices and radio communication.

Nature of work Employees of railway transport must clearly possess and know the device of rolling stock, technical means, PTE, instructions for train movement and shunting, signaling instructions, safety instructions (PTE), inter-shop instructions, instructions for brakes, TPA of the station. Each employee, in addition to his functions, is obliged to save fuel, to perform work tasks clearly and in a timely manner.

Labor market In any settlements where there are railway lines, the profession of locomotive driver is always in the greatest demand on the labor market, especially since the volume of railway transport in our country is constantly growing.

Medical restrictions The work is not recommended for people who have diseases of the cardiovascular system with pronounced pathology, reduced visual acuity, pronounced pathology of the musculoskeletal system, suffering from bronchial asthma. Requirements for individual psychological features. Sufficient health, physical strength and endurance, high acuity of hearing and vision, quick reaction, inclination to work with technology are required.

Cook (third grade)

Waiter (the  third grade)

Professional activity. Celebrating important dates, events, weddings, and even receiving prominent persons and signing agreements involves communication at the festive table and is impossible without waiters who take an active part in the common meal. How to seat people, what dishes to serve and to whom in the first place, what utensils are needed for the consumption of this or that dish – this is what the waiter is directly related to. He not only serves the people sitting at the table, but also helps and even teaches them to follow certain rules and etiquette of food consumption. Today, no restaurant, cafe or bar can do without a cook or waiter.

Bulldozer driver (mining works)sixth grade

Professional activity. A bulldozer driver provides maintenance and repair of a bulldozer, he knows well the purpose and principle of operation of various models of road equipment, the structure of internal combustion engines, knows how to find characteristic problems in them.

A bulldozer operator is a broad-based profession. In addition to locksmith work, he must have a good understanding of the cooling, lubrication and power supply systems of engines, know the rules for the technical operation of excavators with various types of power and variable working equipment, basic data on the organization and economy of production, on safety techniques, as well as road traffic rules.

A bulldozer driver is required to know the basics of construction and road work, soil properties, building materials, traffic rules and their strict observance.

A bulldozer driver needs sufficient health, physical strength and endurance, high hearing and visual acuity, developed vision (linear, planar, three-dimensional), the ability to distribute and quickly switch attention, good visual memory, and the desire to work with machinery. Along with the profession “Bulldozer driver” (mining works), students receive the professions “mining machine and tractor repairman” and “motor grader driver”.

Technician (third grade)

Slinger (the  third grade)

Tasks and duties. He disassembles, repairs, assembles and tests medium-complexity component units, mechanisms of equipment and machines. He repairs, adjusts and tests equipment of medium complexity. The Technician performs quality locksmith work, repairs lined equipment and equipment made of protective materials and ferrosilicon, disassembles, assembles, seals phaolite and ceramic equipment and communications. He manufactures devices of medium complexity for repair and assembly. Performs rigging work when moving loads using simple lifting equipment and mechanisms controlled from the floor.

Tasks and duties. It slings and ties simple products, parts, timber (up to 3 m long) and other similar loads weighing more than 5 to 25 tons for their lifting, moving and stacking. The slinger slings and ties loads of medium complexity, timber loads (more than 3 to 6 m long), products, parts and assemblies with their installation on the machine, platforms and other mounting devices and mechanisms, as well as other similar loads weighing up to 5 tons for their lifting, moving and stacking. The slinger chooses methods for quickly and safely slinging and moving loads under various conditions. The slinger sharpens and ties the slings with various knots.

Electric gas welder (3rd grade)

Professional activity. The welder works both in workshops and on open sites in one or two shifts. He also enjoys benefits and has the right to additional leave, free special meals, is provided with work clothes and shoes. Technologies have been developed, equipment and materials have been created that allow welding to be performed in a wide variety of conditions: on land, under water, and in outer space.

Specialists can weld special steels, rare earth metals and their alloys. Modern welded structures are not afraid of high temperatures, pressure and radiation. They are intended for the nuclear industry, electromechanics, and other fields of technology. In order to master the profession of an electric and gas welder, knowledge of school subjects is necessary.

An electric gas welder needs attention, caution, clear coordination of movements, high sensitivity of hands, good physical condition.

Crane operator

(fourth and fifth grade)

The driver of an automobile crane must know: the structure, principle of operation, technical characteristics of the crane, the basics of the technological process of installation of technological equipment, slipway and sectional assembly of products, assembly structures and disassembly of elements of buildings and structures; determination of the weight of the cargo by appearance; rules for operating the crane and performing work, including in the security zone near power lines, communications and networks, and requirements for the quality of work; road and site traffic rules, installed alarms; causes of occurrence, methods of identifying and eliminating malfunctions; lubrication modes; rates of consumption of fuel and lubricants and methods of saving them; locksmith repair of construction or other machines of similar complexity.

Plaster, painter, tiler (4th grade )

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROFESSION:

– making a solution from dry ready-made materials and mixtures;

– applying the solution to the surface to be plastered;

– leveling of surfaces; equipment of columns, beams, facades.

A plasterer is a construction specialist whose quality of work depends on how the house will look after its commissioning.

A highly qualified plasterer approaches an artist in terms of his level. The results of the plasterer’s work are always visible, so it is said that his work is the calling card of all the builders who built the building.

A plasterer should be able to:

– make continuous leveling of the surface; – prepare mortars, mastics, use ready-made dry construction mixtures;

– prepare different types of surfaces;

– furnish walls and ceilings;

– use mechanisms, inventory, devices, tools necessary for work;

– to prevent and eliminate defects in furnishing works;

– to apply new technologies of furnishing works.

Excavator driver (5th  grade )

The operator drives a crawler or wheeled excavator, excavates soil and rock, moves them or loads them onto vehicles, performs current machine repairs. An excavator is a special self-propelled earthmoving machine for moving and extracting soil, rock, etc. The excavator consists of a rotating platform, a cab, a running device, a bucket and a retractable boom that imitates a human hand.

Professional activity. In addition to locksmith work, an excavator operator must have a good understanding of the cooling, lubrication and power supply systems of engines, know the rules for the technical operation of excavators with various types of power and variable working equipment, basic safety data, as well as road traffic rules. It determines how and where to place the excavator. In the process of work, the driver finds the optimal angle of inclination in order to capture as much soil as possible and not lose it, calculates the speed and angle of its movement to the dump truck in order to unload soil, rock, etc. Also, the excavator operator carries out maintenance of the machine and minor repairs.

Along with the profession of “Excavator operator”, graduates receive the profession of “Locksmith-repairman” and “Slinger”.

Necessary qualities of an excavator driver:

  • coordination of the work of eyes, hands, feet;
  • normal vision;
  • concentration, observation and caution.

Motor vehicle driver

(category “C” “B”)

Driver of motor vehicles of category “C” (driving vehicles that are intended for the transportation of goods and the maximum authorized weight of which exceeds 3500 kg (7700 pounds)

Tasks and duties. Drives motor vehicles belonging to category “C” under various road conditions. Fulfills the requirements of road traffic rules, rules of transportation of goods, passengers and luggage. Ensures proper technical condition of the motor vehicle. Manages special equipment installed on these vehicles. Tows a trailer with a maximum permissible weight of up to 750 kg.

Checks the technical condition of the motor vehicle before leaving for the line and after returning from the flight. Ensures the serviceability of the vehicle equipment in accordance with the requirements of standards related to road safety and environmental protection. Performs work on daily maintenance of the motor vehicle. Provides a vehicle for loading and unloading.

Controls the correctness of loading, placement and fastening of cargo (including dangerous, heavy, oversized) in the body. Eliminates technical malfunctions that occur during work on the line and do not require disassembly of the main mechanisms. Performs regulatory work. Refuels motor vehicles with fuel and other operating materials. Prepares travel documents. Provides first aid to victims of traffic accidents.

Qualification requirements. Complete or basic general secondary education. Vocational and technical education (educational institution for training drivers of motor vehicles). Special training according to standard training plans and training programs for drivers of category “C” motor vehicles and qualification certification. In the case of transportation of dangerous goods, special training according to typical training plans and programs for training drivers for the transportation of dangerous goods of the corresponding class and work experience of at least 3 years on a motor vehicle of the corresponding category.
